I was born to talk.. I talk a lot... well when I was young, my teacher, Mrs Cheong used to call me a "lawyer buruk" - a lousy lawyer who talked endlessly. When I finished my A-levels which didn't go too well my parents said try for the external law degree. I did ok , should have done better in my finals but was too distracted. Decided to go into banking. Yes besides talking a lot, I did like my maths and loved figures. Mum drilled it into all of us that till today, more than 23 years after my O-levels I still remember a bit about my trigonometry. I am no genius but I found maths and banking went well for me. however while I was having my stint as a banking officer , I realized that I could sell money. and I actually liked it. My boss, Mr Ang , whom I hold the highest respect for, was truly amazing. He was tough but fair. He told me at the start that I was wasting his time. How could a law graduate , work as a banker!!! However perseverance and a strong will to disprove his theory , that drive really got me going. Mr Ang, in all fairness, thought me so much and always showed me how to improve myself. He challenged me and I am so grateful to him. Mr Ang Wee Hiong - thank you so much!
That was more than 14years ago. I have not looked back. I went into Sales (Credit and Marketing), then sold teco services for Maxis and ended up in UPS. Everything, with zero knowledge start up to some point of success. I will talk more ...
